This site is here to serve two purposes. Firstly, to act as a resource for anyone venturing into the world of DADGAD tuning, and secondly, to act as a place that I can put lessons, musings and general guitar playing thoughts up. I'm by no means an expert in DADGAD, but hope that by publishing things that I find out or learn, more people will drop by and also pick these things up. I've split the site into two parts - the first, or publicly accessible half, is going to be fairly basic examples of things to do in DADGAD, along with audio clips, thoughts and any other general playing rants that may crop up. The second half will contain more advanced lessons, videos and tab pdf's. Whilst this is also free, donations are gratefully recieved. There is also a QandA section - if you have any questions on matters relating to DADGAD or guitar in general, feel free to contact me. If it's a reasonable question (not "What's the capital of Hungary..") then I'll put it up for the world to see. Finally, why DADGAD? Well... there are a million sites out there that will teach you everything you need to know about standard tuning, but not so many resources for anyone wanting something different - and that's all it is. Different. Hope you enjoy looking around.
I started having classical guitar lessons at the age of 7 and by 13 was dividing my time between Villa Lobos and Pink Floyd... Having taught guitar at university, I started playing in a number of bands before regaining an interest in acoustic music, mainly upon hearing Pierre Bensusan for the first time. I now work full-time in I.T, and spend my free time playing in several bands still, along with updating this site. My guitar is a Fylde Alchemist, recorded on an Echo Audiofire 4 using an AudioTechnica AT4040. Read 0 Comments... >> |
